FROST DELAY POLICY and PROCEDURE In the event of a morning frost delay, the course will not open until the Superintendent deems that the course is fit for play. Meaning that no damage will be caused to the greens from excessive foot traffic or ball marks. Regardless of the length of the frost delay, a mandatory forward shotgun start will go into effect on both courses once the course is open for play for the tee times that have been delayed. Once the course re-opens for play, the assigned tee time will tee off at its designated time. When the groups make the turn from the morning shotgun, Lost Canyons will do it’s best to fit them in according to our tee sheet and our availability. For instance, if we have a one-hour frost delay, the first six tee times will create a shotgun start utilizing holes 1-6. When the lead group finishes hole 18, we will squeeze them into our tee sheet so they are able to complete their round. Once the golfers have completed their round from the shotgun start, we ask that you return back to the clubhouse. In the event that if golfers continue to play, an additional green fee will be assessed per player regardless of the amount of holes played. Regardless of the length of the frost delay, all golfers are mandated to participate in a shotgun start in order to accommodate all golfers. Failure to do so will result in forfeiting their tee time. Length of Frost Delay and Course Maintenance If the frost delay is less than 2-hours, our maintenance staff will conduct all necessary preparations for the course starting on the back 9 only. The front 9 will have the same playing conditions as the previous day and have the previous day’s pin placement for the entire day. Meaning that the greens will not be mowed and the pins will not be changed. If the delay is more than 2 hours in length, no golf course maintenance will be conducted on either of the two courses. Lost Canyons request everyone’s understanding to this matter and please understand that we are doing our absolute best in order to accommodate everyone.
